Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law that prohibits the collection of overdue debts from residents of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions on loans and loans until 2026. The ban applies to debts to professional creditors – credit and microfinance organizations. It will not affect delinquency on debts between individuals up to 50 thousand rubles, loans to individual entrepreneurs, as well as debts for housing and communal services.
In the fall of 2022, the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions became part of Russia. According to the current legislation, these territories will have a transitional regime until January 1, 2026 for their integration into the economic, financial, credit and legal systems of Russia.
