Purina suspends the production and sale of Friskies in Russia

Pet food manufacturer Purina has suspended the production and sale of Friskies, as well as Cat Chow and Dog Chow in Russia, transmits RIA Novosti with reference to a representative of the company’s hotline.
“The supply of feed under the brand Friskies, Cat Chow, Dog Chow is really not carried out at the moment due to difficulties in the procurement and supply of raw materials. We have not been given an exact time when they will be restored. The production of these feeds has also been stopped, ”a company representative said.
At the same time, Purina One and Purina Proplan are still produced and available for purchase in Russia. Purina is part of the group Nestlewhich on March 11 announced the cessation of exports to Russia and imports of non-essential food products.
The start of the military operation in Ukraine entailed large-scale economic sanctions from Western countries. Foreign companies began to suspend their activities in Russia and withdraw from joint ventures. Among the enterprises that have suspended their activities are some energy companies, software developers, automakers, transport and logistics companies, chip and video card manufacturers.
