Puchkov appointed to the position of General Director of the United Shipbuilding Corporation

Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov approved the directives of the Federal Property Management Agency on the election of Puchkov as the general director of USC and the composition of the board of directors.
“I am sure that Andrey Sergeyevich’s rich managerial experience, coupled with a clear understanding of the goals and objectives currently facing the shipbuilding industry, will help to quickly stabilize the financial condition of the largest state-owned shipbuilding holding,” Manturov said.
He also thanked the former guided USC Alexei Rakhmanov for fruitful work. He has led the corporation since 2014. Manturov noted that under his leadership, the corporation has reached a rhythmic pace of work.
Currently, the preparation of regulatory documents for the transfer of USC shares to trust management is underway. “The bank will have to attract investments and bring the holding into profit. At the same time, the announced changes will not affect the fulfillment of the state defense order by the plants included in the USC,” the Ministry of Industry and Trade specified.
Earlier on August 23 press service VTB informedthat Puchkov left the bank in connection with the transition to a new job. He has worked in the bank for over 20 years. He is 46 years old. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of Moscow State University in 1998. VTB Puchkov began working in 2002, when he held the position of Deputy Head of Department in the Legal Department of Vneshtorgbank. In December 2008, Puchkov became deputy chairman of the bank’s board. In 2018, the Supervisory Board approved him for the post of First Deputy Chairman of the Board of VTB.
On August 10, at a meeting with VTB Chairman of the Board Andrei Kostin, President Vladimir Putin informedthat the state stake in USC will be transferred to VTB. Kostin noted that the group works closely with the corporation, so it knows the problems, including in the field of financing. He said that with the support of the head of state, VTB would cope with this task. Manturov on the same day noted that he expects VTB to effectively manage USC and fulfill the state order.
Later it became known that the government nominated Kostin and, at that time, the first deputy chairman of the bank, Puchkov, to the board of directors of USC. The order to nominate candidates who will represent the interests of the Russian Federation on the USC Board of Directors was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. A total of 13 candidates were included in the list. Among them is the CEO STLC Evgeny Dietrich, First Deputy General Director of the Rostec State Corporation Vladimir Artyakov, Head of Rosmorrechflot Zakhary Dzhioev, Secretary of State – Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Viktor Evtukhov and others.
