Prilepin spoke about the ban on a new film with Chulpan Khamatova

Russian writer Zakhar Prilepin wrote on his Telegram channel that the new film with the actress Chulpan Khamatova, who left Russia, “The Common Man” was banned. “They didn’t put it on the shelf, but they didn’t give it a rental,” Prilepin specified.

He added that he took part in the filming of films several times, but these films also did not receive rentals.

“It happens, and this is not a tragedy. Rolled stock is not made of rubber,” Prilepin explained.

He was indignant that the news had been made out of this circumstance, they say, a dictatorship has come that crushes creative people and all their accomplishments.

Prilepin also, responding to a remark by Ksenia Sobchak, wrote that in an ordinary European country they can cover up any artist who dares to support Russia out loud and “we are not far behind.”

“All this is the usual global liberal practices,” Prilepin said.

At the same time, he noted that in Russia all this is “fixed at once” if the artist takes a pound of caramel and goes to a refugee camp. After that, “the big sad state will immediately take you in its arms and will blow on the crown of your head, admiring your eyes, lips, ears.”

According to Prilepin, you can just sit out and then the state itself will allow everything – broadcasts, corporate parties and shows – and then you can eat caramel yourself.

It should be noted that the film “The Simple Man” directed by Yana Klimova-Yusupova was withdrawn from the rental, which was scheduled to begin on August 25, for unknown reasons. But the closed screening of the film took place within the framework of the International Moscow Film Festival.

The film tells about a young man who is about to leave Russia with his girlfriend for Barcelona, ​​but then he learns that there was a woman (Chulpan Khamatova) who left him in the hospital thirty years ago.
