Prigozhin: YouTube will soon be banned, and those who use it will be punished

Entrepreneur and founder of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin said that in the near future YouTube will be banned in Russia, and those who actively use it will suffer “deserved punishment.” In his opinion, one of the reasons why video hosting has not yet been banned is the position of “a large number of people” in the presidential administration who are betting on Russia’s defeat. Evgeny Prigozhin’s commentary was published by the press service of his Concord company in Telegram channel.

“The first and main reason (for the availability of YouTube in Russia.— “b”) – today we have a huge number of people on Staraya Square in the Presidential Administration who think only about one thing – if Russia would lose the war as soon as possible, if the Americans would come and regulate us as soon as possible, ”the entrepreneur said in a message.

According to Mr. Prigozhin, the Americans “will not take you in.” “And then you will come to us, where the Wagner sledgehammer will already be waiting for you,” Yevgeny Prigozhin threatened. Those who oppose the closure of YouTube, the entrepreneur called traitors who rest abroad and support the West in every possible way. And those who are in favor of blocking YouTube and for “Russians to watch Russian and pro-Russian”, the founder of Wagner PMC called “simple Russian people”.

The second reason YouTube hasn’t been banned yet is the “absolutely ridiculous notion” that there is no alternative. According to Yevgeny Prigozhin, this is not the case for storing a large number of videos, in particular, the social networks VKontakte and Odnoklassniki are suitable.

“No matter how they break their teeth, the bastards who pretend to participate, but in fact, interfere with us in the special operation, who wear Russian flags on May 9, but place relatives abroad and go to Dubai to play golf, in the near future YouTube will be closed. And those who actively use YouTube, in turn, will be identified and will suffer a well-deserved punishment after it is banned, ”concluded the entrepreneur.

December 5 Evgeny Prigozhin asked Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov to check the activities of YouTube video hosting. In his opinion, the platform allegedly disseminates “inaccurate socially significant information under the guise of reliable messages”, as well as information “aimed at discrediting the execution of their powers by state bodies of the Russian Federation”.

In October, the Ministry of Digital reportedthat Russia does not plan to block access to YouTube. After the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, video hosting blocked the Russian channels of companies from the Russian Federation, including those that fell under sanctions. In particular, in August the channels of Rostec and KamAZ were blocked. In addition, media channels were also affected by blocking. At the moment, RBC, TASS, Rossiya Segodnya, VGTRK, Solovyov Live and RT channels are blocked on YouTube.
