Interros Holding President Vladimir Potanin announced that the company has begun the process of transferring up to 50% of Rosbank’s shares to Mr. Potanin’s charitable foundation. Another 10% of the shares will be given to a motivation program for Rosbank employees, which will be launched in digital form, the entrepreneur promised.

After receiving the shares of Rosbank, the target capital of the businessman’s fund will reach the planned amount of 100 billion rubles, according to press release Interros. This will “ensure the financial sustainability and longevity of the foundation’s philanthropic programs”. It will become “an independent charitable organization with independent governing bodies,” said Vladimir Potanin.

“I am convinced that entrepreneurs should not just allocate funds to charity, but make public benefit a part of their business models. The decisions made are not my first and not my last step in transferring capital for socially useful purposes, ”says the businessman.

In May, Mr. Potanin redeemed Rosbank belongs to the French group Societe Generale, which left Russia amid the military operation in Ukraine. After that, Rosbank increased the remuneration to members of the board of directors several times. As a result, the remuneration of independent directors in the bank reached the market pre-crisis level.
