Peskov does not consider the loss of the European market for Russian gas to be critical

According to the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, Europe is not the only buyer of gas from Russia in the world, which is why the loss of the European energy market for the Russian Federation will not be critical. Mr. Peskov believes that there are regions in the world with higher rates of development than in Europe, through cooperation with which Russia will be able to compensate for the consequences of Western sanctions. He did not specify which regions he was talking about.
“There are regions that, by the way, are developing at a faster pace and have much more ambitious development programs. In these regions, the demand for gas will be able to fully compensate for the lack of demand in the European direction,” the spokesman commented on the statement that Russia would have to burn its own gas due to the impossibility of selling it on the European market.
In May, as I found out “b”, The Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs proposed to increase the rate of associated petroleum gas (APG) flaring without penalties from 5% to 30% of the total production by the end of the year. A sharp collapse in APG exports occurred after the start of the military operation in Ukraine.
