Oil pumping through the damaged string of the Druzhba pipeline has been resumed. This was reported by the press service of the operator Pern, responsible for the Polish part of the pipeline.
“The first line of the western section of the Druzhba gas pipeline was operating normally throughout the entire period of the incident. The second line, which also supplies oil to the company’s German customers, was restored to full capacity on Monday evening (August 7. – Vedomosti),” the report says.
Pern noted that work had been going on around the clock since the evening of August 5. Now the company will clean up the territory and identify the causes of the leak, the press service added.
On the evening of August 5 in the pipeline discovered a leak on one of the two strings of the western section, through which oil enters Germany. Then the thread was turned off. The second branch of the pipeline worked without changes.

The Druzhba pipeline was built in the 1960s. for the delivery of oil from the USSR to the countries of the socialist camp in Eastern Europe. It starts in the Samara region and passes through Bryansk, and then splits into two branches: northern and southern. Germany and Poland received oil along the northern branch through Belarus, while Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic received oil along the southern branch (goes through Ukraine).
