At the age of 77, the poet and publicist Lev Rubinstein died on January 14, the poet’s daughter reported. Lev Rubinstein is one of the founders of Moscow conceptualism. He developed this direction in the 70s together with artists Ilya Kabakov, Andrei Monastyrsky, poets Dmitry Prigov and Vsevolod Nekrasov.

Lev Rubinstein was born in 1947 in Moscow. He graduated from the philological faculty of the Moscow State Correspondence Pedagogical Institute (now Sholokhov Moscow State Humanitarian University). For a long time he worked as a librarian in the library at the institute. His first publications appeared in the West in the late 1970s. In 2012, he received the NOS award for the book “Signs of Attention.”
