Daughter confirms death of poet Lev Rubinstein, hit by a car

Russian poet, bibliographer and essayist Lev Rubinstein died in hospital at the age of 76. Two days ago, journalists Victoria Ivleva and Masha Slonim reported about this. However, then the daughter of the poet and the Sklifosovsky Research Institute of Emergency Medicine denied these reports. Today the family announced that Lev Rubinstein has died.
“My dad, Lev Rubinstein, died today,” linguist and translator Maria Rubinstein wrote on social networks.
Let us recall that Lev Rubinstein was hit by a car in Moscow on Obraztsova Street on January 8. According to preliminary data, the 63-year-old driver did not slow down in front of an unregulated pedestrian crossing. The driver was detained. A criminal case has been initiated against him. It turned out that over the past year he violated traffic rules 19 times.
Lev Rubinstein received serious injuries and has since been in intensive care at the Research Institute of Emergency Medicine named after. N.V. Sklifosovsky is in extremely serious condition with fractures and traumatic brain injury.
