Actor Alexander Filippenko left Russia because of his civic position, the artist’s daughter said. In an interview with the Dozhd TV channel (included in the Russian Federation in the register of foreign agents), she said that at the end of last year, the Moscow Council Theater did not renew the contract with him. Now, according to the daughter of the actor, his father lives in Lithuania.

How informs RBC, in the theater of the Moscow City Council said that the actor took a leave of absence for treatment. Theater director Alexei Cherepnev added that Filippenko “is a guest artist, so it’s his choice where to be.” To a clarifying question whether the doors of the theater remain open for the actor, the director suggested that this was so: “Still, such a wonderful artist.”

Filippenko’s daughter said that her father’s departure abroad was connected with his opinion about the special operation in Ukraine. In the spring of last year, the actor posted his photo in an embroidered shirt on the social network, and also shared his memories of the tour in Kyiv. The artist’s heiress added that after the start of the CBO, the organizers of her father’s performances began to be denied approval of the venues.

RBC indicates that at the moment Filippenko is mentioned on the website of the Moscow City Council Theater and announced in four performances.
