Passenger car sales increased 1.8 times in February – Kommersant

In February 2024, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles (LCVs) in Russia increased year-on-year by 1.8 times, to 113.5 thousand units. In total, since the beginning of the year, 221 thousand (+64%) new cars have been sold in the country, it follows from report Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Monthly market growth in this segment in February amounted to 30.5%. During the specified period, 103.3 thousand passenger cars were sold, 10.2 thousand LCVs.
Sales of all types of vehicles in Russia amounted to 125.5 thousand units (+73.5%). This number also includes trucks (10 thousand) and buses (2 thousand).
In total, in the first two months of 2024, 183.3 thousand passenger cars (+73%), LCVs – 17.3 thousand (+63%) were sold in Russia. In addition, 17.4 thousand trucks (+16%) and 3.1 thousand buses (+5%) were sold.
