The American Color Institute Pantone has chosen a shade of orange as the main color of 2024 – Peach Fuzz. The organization announced this on its website. According to the institute, this color symbolizes inner peace, a deep need for community, unity and social connections.

Pantone develops color palettes and standards, and also advises brands on color solutions. Pantone Institute of Color, or Pantone Color Institute, is part of the Pantone company. Institute staff are studying how color affects all areas of our lives. Throughout the year, the institute’s staff observes which shades are used most often around the world. Thus, the institute appoints a shade that has already become popular as the color of the year.

Pantone chief executive Leatrice Eiseman says peach fuzz encourages people to listen to the human experience, emphasizing the importance of health, including mental health. “We are living in a time of upheaval in many aspects of our lives, and as a result, our need for care, empathy and compassion continues to grow as we want a more peaceful future for us all,” Ms. Eisman said in a conversation with Time.

Pantone has chosen the color of the year for 25 years. Hue 2023 was a rich raspberry (Viva Magenta), and 22nd – blue with a violet-red undertone (Very Peri). According to the institute, the color of the year is “a color snapshot of what we see in global culture and expresses a general mood.”
