Ozon opened a new warehouse instead of a burned-out one in Istra near Moscow

Online retailer Ozon has opened a new warehouse in Pushkino near Moscow, which will reduce the load on neighboring facilities, which increased after a fire at the company’s warehouse on Novorizhskoye Highway on August 3, informed retailer’s press office.

“We promised to return this week with a new supply solution – and here it is: a warehouse in Pushkino near Moscow is waiting for your goods,” the message says.

Now 52,000 sq. m. are available for deliveries. m., after the opening of the entire warehouse in autumn, the area will increase to 152,000 sq. m, exceeding the area of ​​the affected warehouse in Istra.

The fire at the Ozon warehouse near Istra occurred on August 3rd. The area of ​​the fire was 55 thousand square meters, it affected the second and third blocks of the warehouse complex. Bearing structures collapsed over an area of ​​22,000 square meters. Over 1,000 people were evacuated. The Ministry of Emergency Situations announced the complete elimination of the fire on August 8.

To Ozon clarifiedthat the company’s liability for the consequences of a fire in a warehouse is insured for a total amount of 12 billion rubles, and also promised to compensate the cost of sellers’ goods that were damaged or lost as a result of a fire.
