Michael Caine, a British actor who won two Oscars for Best Supporting Actor in Woody Allen’s Hannah and Her Sisters and Lasse Hallström’s The Cider House Rules, announced in an interview with the BBC that finishing his career.

The actor noted that he had previously repeatedly talked about the possibility of retirement, and after filming the title role in the film “The Great Fugitive,” he decided to retire from active work forever.

“Now I can only count on the roles of 90-year-olds, or maybe 85-year-olds. So I thought, why not end my career on this note?” said Michael Caine.

The famous actor shared that he initially did not immediately accept the offer to star in the film “The Great Fugitive.” However, after several readings of the script, he fell in love with the hero – World War II veteran Bernie Jordan.

Michael Caine began his career in 1950. His first significant popularity came after his role in the historical drama Zulu in 1964, where he played the role of a British army officer.

Over the course of his long career, Michael Caine has starred in more than 100 feature films and won two Oscars and three Golden Globes.
