Ordinary shares of SPB Exchange will start trading only in rubles from September 22

Starting September 22, 2022, SPB Exchange will conduct trading and settlements for ordinary shares only in Russian rubles, reported press service of the trading platform. Against this background, shares of SPB Exchange on the Moscow Exchange are reduced by 5%.
The site decided to switch to the use of the Russian currency in trading in connection with the entry into force of changes in the regulation of the Central Bank “On the activities of organized trading”, in particular, in paragraphs. 1.13.2, 1.13.3. In accordance with them, the value of traded securities is indicated in rubles.
Due to the technical procedures required when changing the trading currency, trading in securities will not be conducted on September 19, except for negotiation trades with settlement codes T0 and T1 and the trading mode “address repo with the Central Counterparty” with settlement code T0T1. On September 20 and 21, trading will not be held in all trading modes.
September 16 will be the last day of trading in the main trading mode in dollars (the end of trading is 23:50 Moscow time), and September 20 will be the last day of settlement for transactions made in this currency.
The transition to trading and settlements in rubles will happen automatically, no additional actions will be required from investors, the exchange notes.
