In order to avoid standing in lines for goods, it is advisable to pick them up before December 29, says Sergei Denisenko, head of the press service of VseInstrumenty.ru: “The load traditionally increases for the New Year. People order goods to prepare gifts for everyone. Also, B2B clients are active until the 31st.
This time the New Year falls on the weekend of December 30 and 31. These dates will be the heaviest, and therefore, in order to have time to select and receive all products, we recommend placing orders at the beginning of the coming week.
The last two days of December will be very busy and will probably be the busiest period for issuing orders at retail outlets.”
Meanwhile, due to sanctions and the severance of trade relations with the West, imports of goods into Russia have decreased by almost half. Logisticians managed to switch to the Asian direction, but it will no longer be possible to receive foreign orders before the New Year, said Kirill Latinsky, executive director of TransAsia Logistics: “We don’t have an overload as such. The maximum peak ended on December 22. After the New Year, activity will begin to increase. This is precisely due to the fact that in international transportation at the end of the year we only deliver those orders that left earlier. This includes sea container and rail transportation of goods coming from Turkey and other countries.
We provide direct rail transport from China, and the approximate delivery time ranges from 15 to 30 days depending on geography. We also carry out sea container transportation from China, this is about 30 days, taking into account all stages of delivery.
If we talk about air transport, then, I believe, the very last date when you can hope that the goods can be received is December 26, and it is unlikely to be later.
As for those companies engaged in domestic Russian transportation, their peak load will end around January 8-9, maximum January 10, 2024. Then there will be stagnation until about mid-February. Internal logistics is active until December 31 inclusive.”
Large marketplaces – Ozon, Wildberries and Yandex Market, according to published New Year’s schedules, will be open on December 31 until 20:00. January 1 will be a day off for them.
