The film “Oppenheimer” directed by Christopher Nolan received 13 nominations for the BAFTA film award, becoming the leader among other films, Reuters reports. Martin Scorsese’s films “Poor Folks” and “Killers of the Flower Moon” received 9 nominations each.
All three films will compete for the film award along with Justine Trieu’s Anatomy of a Fall and Alexander Payne’s The Leftovers. The BAFTA Awards ceremony will take place on February 18 in London.
In 2023, Oppenheimer grossed $951.3 million worldwide. At the end of last year, more than 50 world publications included Oppenheimer in their lists of the best films of the year, including the BBC, The Guardian, The New Yorker and Rolling Stone. In 2024 he was awarded five Golden Globe Award nominations. On January 15, Oppenheimer won 8 Critics’ Choice Award nominations.
