Telecom operators Megafon, VimpelCom (Beeline brand) and Tele2 will soon return to Russians the opportunity to distribute Internet traffic from mobile devices for free, they told the newspaper “News” in the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia. At the same time, MTS is not yet planning to make a similar decision.

According to the antimonopoly authority, the Megafon company abolished charging fees for traffic distribution from October 23 of this year. The operator Tele2, as emphasized by the FAS, will cancel the fee for this service for new subscriber connections from November 22 this year, and for all its clients from December 19. Beeline has not yet announced the exact timing of the return of free distribution of Internet traffic. The operator promised to assess the timing of the technical implementation of the abolition of fees for this service by the beginning of December.

In mid-September FAS demandedso that MTS, MegaFon, Beeline and Tele2 cancel the fee for distributing Internet traffic from mobile devices for a month. Department threatened operators in cases of violation of antimonopoly legislation. As of September 18, the cost of Internet distribution from the Big Four was about 100 rubles. per month.
