The Primorsky District Court of St. Petersburg registered a lawsuit against singer Olga Buzova and the Archer music label from the importer and distributor of Global Wine Distribution for 1.1 million euros and 1.5 million rubles. “The plaintiff asks to recover jointly and severally from the defendants on account of the losses incurred 1.15 million euros at the exchange rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation on the day of execution of the decision, the cost of disposing of products in the amount of 1.56 rubles,” the statement said.
It is specified that a license agreement was concluded between the wine distributor and Buzova to use the Buzwine trademark. In turn, Archer took on the responsibility of promoting products with this trademark. In addition, the company had to conclude an agreement with Buzova, which would allow her name and image to be used in the media.
However, on April 3, 2020, Buzova refused to give permission for the use of her name and image. In this regard, the distributor had to dispose of all manufactured products, as well as refuse to purchase the planned volume of products. After that, the Leninsky District Court in Rostov-on-Don decided to recover funds from Global Wine Distribution in favor of Cheers Beverage Distribution.
Then the producer Buzova explained the termination of the contract with Global Wine Distribution by repeated failure to comply with oral agreements on the part of the distributor, wrote “RIA News”.
