Oko Design Bureau prepares Privet-82 drones for use in the special operation zone

Tests of kamikaze drones of the Privet-82 aircraft type in the zone of military operation on the territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics were completed successfully, TASS was told at the Oko design bureau. Now drones are equipped with a warhead and are being prepared for use in various units.
The maximum flight range of the Hi-82 kamikaze drone is 30 km, the speed is 140 km/h, and the payload is 5.5 kg. The reconnaissance version of the drone has a longer flight time – up to 1.5 hours. The takeoff of the drone is automatic, from a catapult.
“During the tests, the flight range, radio channel, as well as the resistance of the drone to the effects of local electronic warfare systems were checked. Work is underway to equip the drones with a warhead, they are being prepared for the first combat use, which will take place in the coming days, ”Oko reported. In addition, the capabilities of the drone were demonstrated to representatives of the battalions of operational-combat tactical formations, the bureau noted. Among the battalions are Cascade, Vostok, the National Guard and the private military company Wagner.
As clarified in the design bureau, there are currently 12 Privet-82 drones in the zone of military operation. The drone has also been tested in a reconnaissance version. “In the NMD zone, we showed and tested a variant of our apparatus in reconnaissance modification. Received good feedback and recommendations for improvement. It is necessary to slightly modify the camera that is installed on the reconnaissance drone, after which the device will go into series, ”the bureau noted.
Design Bureau “Oko” was founded in 2022 in St. Petersburg. According to the information provided on site organization, Oko operates on the principle of an IT startup and specializes in creating ultra-cheap drones for the needs of volunteer battalions and private military companies.
