PERN, operator of the Polish section of the Druzhba oil pipeline, informedthat oil supplies to Germany through one of the pipeline lines were stopped due to the discovery of a leak.

“On the evening of August 5, PERN automation systems detected a depressurization of the Druzhba pipeline in the Khodech area on one of the two lines of the western section, through which oil enters Germany. Pumping on the damaged thread was immediately stopped,” the company said in a press release. It will be clarified that the second string of the Druzhba oil pipeline is currently operating without changes, and other elements of the PERN infrastructure are also operating “in standard mode”, including the Pomorsky section, through which oil is pumped by tankers to Poland, and then to Germany .

Now the Polish company is investigating the causes of the emergency.

The news is being added.
