Oil refining in Russia from the beginning of January to February 18, 2024 decreased by about 7%, said the head of the Ministry of Energy Nikolai Shulginov. The ministry predicts that by the end of this year, oil refining will amount to 275 million tons, the same as at the end of 2023.
“Oil refining in the Russian Federation has decreased by about 7% since the beginning of the year. At the end of the year, we are focusing on the indicator that is in the socio-economic development forecast: 275 million tons,” said Mr. Shulginov at the Forum of National Achievements at VDNKh (quote from “Interfax”).
Based on the results of last year, primary oil refining in Russia grew by 1.2%, to 275 million tons. By the end of 2022, the figure was at 271.7 million tons. Gasoline production in 2023 increased by 3.1% compared to 2022, to 43.9 million tons, diesel fuel – by 3.5%, to 88.1 million tons. Oil exports from Russia decreased by 3.3%, to 234.3 million tons (242.2 million tons in 2022).
