“Oil as the Music of Fate”: a musical about the life of oil workers swept across the country

In Ufa, Samara, Novy Urengoy, Irkutsk, Surgut and Nizhnevartovsk, screenings of the musical “Oil as the Music of Fate” were held. Its authors and performers were employees of RN-Vankor (part of the Rosneft oil and gas production complex). The company’s press service reported this.
The plot is based on young people pursuing their dreams. After graduating from university, the guys go on a shift to the fields of the Vankor cluster in the Far North. They try to convince their friends that only men are accepted there, but the girls refuse to put up with this and go to the shift after their friends. There, adventures and interesting work await them in the harsh and beautiful north.
In order for an interesting idea to reach the level of a production worthy of a theatrical stage, company employees, in their free time from work, took acting, vocal and stage movement lessons from professional tutors, directors and choreographers. The enormous work they put into the production could not go unnoticed, so it was decided to show it in other cities.
The concerts took place at the end of February – beginning of March in Ufa, Samara, Novy Urengoy, Irkutsk, Surgut and Nizhnevartovsk. The musical was attended by about 5 thousand people. Among them were employees of Rosneft subsidiaries, their families and industry veterans.
In each city, at the end of the musical, employees of local oil company enterprises also appeared on stage and presented their own musical and dance numbers. Among them are employees of Bashneft, Samaraneftegaz, Rospan International, Angarsk Polymer Plant, Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha, RN-Yuganskneftegaz and Samotlorneftegaz.
Representatives of the press service noted that the company actively participates in significant events and phenomena of Russian cultural life, traditionally supports large-scale projects aimed at reviving the country’s spiritual and national values, developing science, culture, education and sports.
