OceanGate shut down website and social media after submersible crash

The American company OceanGate, whose bathyscaphe crashed while descending to the Titanic, closed the company’s website and deleted social networks, the Vedomosti correspondent was convinced.
“RIA News” reportedthat the company has deleted accounts on Instagram and Facebook (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and banned), and on Twitter and LinkedIn. A banner hangs on the company’s website announcing that OceanGate has suspended all research and commercial operations.

On June 18, the OceanGate expedition to the wreckage of the sunken Titanic began. Five people were on board the Titan submersible – CEO Stockton Rush, explorer Paul-Henri Nargeole, British businessman Hamish Harding, Pakistani entrepreneur Shahzada Dawood and his 19-year-old son Suleiman.
1 hour 45 minutes after the dive, the crew of the underwater vehicle lost contact with the satellite, after which a search and rescue operation began 1450 km from Cape Cod on the Atlantic coast of the United States and 644 km south of St. island of Newfoundland.
On June 22, the company reported that everyone in the bathyscaphe was considered dead. The next day it became known that implosion was the cause of the crash – the destruction of the bathyscaphe’s hull under the influence of the water column. According to Jasper Graham-Jones, an associate professor at the University of Plymouth, tiny cracks in the hull could have caused the bathyscaphe to crash.
The wreckage of the Titan was delivered to the port of St. John’s (Canada) on June 28. The alleged remains of the dead were found in the same area where the wreckage was found.
