The operator of the Nord Stream gas pipeline, Nord Stream AG, is assessing the cost of repairing the pipeline pipes and resuming the gas supply. The newspaper reported The New York Times (NYT), citing a source.
According to the publication, the repair of one pipe of the gas pipeline may amount to about $500 million. It is not specified what the amount of repair work should be to restore gas supply.
The NYT source also said that specialists are studying how long pipes damaged by explosions can withstand exposure to salt water.
Explosions at Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 in the Baltic Sea occurred on September 26. Denmark, Germany and Sweden are investigating the incidents.
