The American technology corporation Nvidia has taken third place among the largest companies in the United States by capitalization, pushing aside Alphabet. A day earlier, Nvidia moved Amazon from fourth place, overtaking it for the first time in two decades, reports Reuters.
In trading on Wednesday, Nvidia shares rose by 2.46%, increasing the company’s capitalization to $1.825 trillion. Alphabet shares rose by only 0.55% in trading, and the capitalization of this company amounted to $1.821 trillion. Amazon’s capitalization at the end of yesterday’s trading increased to $1.776 trillion. Nvidia controls about 80% of the market for high-performance chips for artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. Thanks to the company’s position and very strong demand for such semiconductors amid strong interest in AI development, Nvidia shares tripled last year and are up another 47% so far this year.

According to analysts, quarterly reports, which Nvidia will present on February 21, will again be a record. But if Nvidia issues even one bad quarterly report, if they do not exceed investors’ expectations, then they could fall by 20-30% in just one electronic trading,” said Jake Dollarhide, CEO of the American company Longbow Asset Management.
Microsoft ($3 trillion) and Apple ($2.8 trillion) retain first and second places both in the US and in the world. The third place in the world in terms of capitalization is occupied by the Saudi state company Saudi Aramco with $2 trillion.
