Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexander Novak held a meeting on the situation on the oil products market, informs press service of the government of the Russian Federation. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Energy, the Federal Antimonopoly Service, the Ministry of Finance, oil companies, as well as Prime Minister’s Assistant Igor Artemyev.

Following the meeting, Novak instructed to ensure uniform and regular sales of gasoline and diesel fuel on the stock exchange to cover the needs of the domestic market, including independent gas stations.

“It is necessary to monitor prices at gas stations and in the wholesale segment, taking into account the summer growth in demand and the refinery repair season. Oil companies should continue active work with the headquarters for monitoring the production and consumption of petroleum products under the Ministry of Energy,” he stressed.

During the meeting, the participants announced a stable supply of fuel to the domestic market since the beginning of this year. They also noted sufficient stocks of oil products during the spring repairs of oil refineries, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reports.

Exchange prices for fuel in Russia in May approached their absolute maximums. The exchange price of the AI-95 was 61,634 rubles/t, the historical record for September 2021 was 60,570 rubles/t.

Gasoline quotes on the exchange began to grow from mid-April this year against the backdrop of the start of the repair season at refineries and reports of another damper adjustment. On May 30, the cost of a ton of diesel fuel on the exchange was 50,829 rubles.
