Russia discussed with Saudi Arabia within the framework of the Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) the issue of launching Yandex services, including a search engine and taxi. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak stated this in an interview with RT Arabic.

“Within the framework of the IPC, we discussed, among other things, the possibilities of developing a search network”Yandex“For example, if we talk about high information technologies, calling a taxi. That is, those intelligent new information systems that are used in Russia can be distributed, including in Saudi Arabia,” – leads his words to Interfax.

As the agency reminds, Yandex is now represented in the UAE from the Middle East, where it is developing the Yango taxi service and delivery using robot couriers.

In May, it was reported that the authorities had agreed on a deal to sell a controlling stake in Yandex. In particular, the media wrote about the approval of the agreement by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Later it became known that the approval of the transaction for settlements for the division of Yandex assets with the government was delayed for almost a month and a half due to a statement by Yandex co-founder Arkady Volozh, in which he condemned the special operation in Ukraine. According to media reports, the company lost about $150 million (from $250 million that Yandex NV could receive from business in Russia, the deal was reduced to $70-80 million).
