Norebo may receive unfinished trawlers along with fishing quotas

The Murmanseld-2 fishing company, owned by Yuri Zadvorny, is negotiating the “transfer” of a series of four unfinished trawlers to the Norebo company (owned by Vitaly Orlov). Vedomosti was told about this by two sources at shipbuilding enterprises in St. Petersburg and two interlocutors at fishing companies.

Two sources clarify that Norebo, together with Rosrybolovstvo, is exploring the possibility of transferring fishing quotas along with the vessels for the construction of which these investment quotas (“keel quotas”) were promised. But, according to a source in the fishing company, de jure there is no such mechanism yet. “The transfer of quotas together with trawlers is logical – such capital costs can only be recovered in the fishery. But the legislation does not stipulate the possibility of transferring investment quotas along with the investment object. If Norebo manages to do this, it will be an interesting precedent,” he says.
