Nokia will carry out the first rebranding in 60 years

Founded in 1865, Finnish telecommunications equipment manufacturer Nokia has announced a decision to revamp its brand for the first time in 60 years. The new logo consists of five different shapes to form the word Nokia, the iconic blue color of the old logo has been replaced with a different range of colors. The decision to upgrade is due to a change in the company’s strategy.
“There was an association with smartphones, and now we are a business technology company,” said in an interview with the agency. Reuters CEO Pekka Lundmark.
The company’s strategy, which Mr. Lundmark is pursuing, consists of three stages: reboot, accelerate and scale. Now that the reboot phase is over, the head of Nokia has announced the start of the second phase.
“The signal is very clear. We want cooperation where global leadership is possible,” said Pekka Lundmark.
While Nokia remains focused on growing its service provider business, where it sells equipment to telecommunications companies, its main focus now is on selling equipment to other businesses.
Nokia promised leave the Russian market by the end of 2022, the import of telecom equipment must be completely stay in 2023.
