President Vladimir Putin instructed the government to create drone development centers in 11 regions, including the Nizhny Novgorod region, on Tuesday. Until 2030, it is necessary to organize a network of support centers for the design of UAS, their testing, production and preparation for certification in the regions. “The Nizhny Novgorod region has great potential in this area. There are production sites, intellectual potential, and most importantly, the desire to develop and implement technologies that are so necessary for the country,” said Gleb Nikitin.
It is planned to involve specialized organizations of micro- and radio electronics, start-ups of drone manufacturers and universities to work on the creation of the Nizhny Novgorod BAS center. Georgy Antsev, head and general designer of JSC NPP Radar mms, noted that cooperation with the Central Design Bureau for the SEC began with work on the revival of the high-speed fleet and the construction of new hydrofoils of a new generation. “Today, by signing the memorandum, together with our strategic partner and the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region, we are taking an important step towards the development of unmanned aerial systems in the region with the ability to take off and land on the surface of the water,” said Mr. Antsev.
