According to the results of the first quarter, the net profit of the Moscow Exchange under IFRS increased by 77% year-on-year, to RUB 14.3 billion. Adjusted net profit increased by 17.4% to RUB 14.298 billion, reported on the exchange website.

EBITDA of the Moscow Exchange increased by 72.5% to RUB 19.07 billion. The exchange’s fee and commission income decreased by 6.5% to RUB 9.96 billion, interest and other financial income increased by 21% to RUB 13.19 billion. Operating income of the Moscow Exchange increased by 6.9%, operating expenses decreased by 17.9%. The ratio of expenses and income decreased by 7 percentage points, to 23.4%.

At the opening today, the Moscow Exchange index is growing by 0.73% compared to the previous close, is 2645.48 points.

At the end of 2022, the Moscow Exchange Index collapsed by 43%, but in 2023 it returned to growth. In April, the Moscow Exchange index entrenched above the mark of 2600 points, having updated the annual maximum and having added more than 9% since the end of March. Among the positive factors, market participants noted the rise in oil prices combined with the weakening of the ruble and did not rule out an increase in the index to 2700 points.
