Nazareth founder and frontman Dan McCafferty dies

Dan McCafferty, founding member and longtime lead singer of classic rock band Nazareth, has died at the age of 76. According to edition Consequence.net, Nazareth bassist Pete Agnew has announced the death of the legendary musician.
“I lost my best friend and the world lost one of the greatest singers that ever lived,” Agnew said.
Nazareth are best known for their hits “Hair of the Dog” and “Love Hurts”. And McCafferty, known for his powerful vocals, has been Nazareth’s vocalist since their formation in 1968-2015, when he left the band for health reasons. He recorded 23 albums with the band, from the 1971 album of the same name to 2014’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Telephone. Nazareth remain active to this day, with Agnew as the only original member and new lead singer Carl Sentance.
McCafferty’s latest solo album was released in 2019.
