Theater in the frame

You can immerse yourself in the traditions of the Russian theater, which from past centuries influence us today, in the Moskino Salyut cinema. The film “Russian Theater in One Frame” will present a portrait of the national stage of the XXI century in the person of its heroes, including Evgeny Mironov, Vladimir Mashkov, Konstantin Raikin, Irina Apeksimova and Yulia Peresild, as well as, alas, Mark Zakharov and Roman Viktyuk who have left us. All of them in their own way relied and lean on historical experience. This project began as a photographic one: a couple of years ago, hundreds of portraits of leading actors and directors were shown at an exhibition in Zaryadye. And now a documentary has been made in her footsteps – based on interviews recorded during photography. It will be presented by its author, director of ROSIZO Olga Galaktionova. Show starts at 16:00.

Bad tasteful apartment

The Bulgakov Museum will listen to the tastes of … literature. In the living room of the Bad Apartment, the head of the scientific department, Ivan Nazarov, will talk about the culture of food in the work of Mikhail Afanasyevich. The dishes mentioned in the works of the classic, it turns out, are described not just for taste, they give the reader additional touches to the portraits of the heroes of the plots. But, of course, they talk about the food preferences of the author of The Master and Margarita.

However, the evening will not be limited to the culture of edibles. Visitors to the Bad Apartment will be treated to the play “Pyotr Fomenko’s Workshop” about Mikhail Bulgakov based on the memoirs of the actor and friend of the writer Grigory Konsky, who played in almost all the Moscow Art Theater productions based on his plays. At the end of the evening, guests will be treated to jazz from the 1920s and 1930s and excerpts from Zoya’s Apartment performed by VGIK students from Valery Fokin’s Workshop. A delicious evening will begin at 19.00.

Business people in the library

The Russian State Library will show a film about people from small towns and villages who, against all odds, are trying to make the world around them better and kinder. Someone does not let local crafts and cultural traditions perish, someone teaches children to play hockey, someone saves lonely old people. “People of Action” is a documentary film by a young director Vladimir Golovnev about those who, relying on the past, are looking for their place in the present and are trying to change the future for the better. After showing an hour-long film at 17.00, a discussion about local communities and the role of people in the field will begin. This will be a conversation that will help to figure out how each of us can overcome the stress of external events and find balance in a rapidly changing world by doing good deeds.

Luck with a pot of roses

The Tropinin Museum has an exhibition prepared jointly with the Russian Museum. Project “Vasily Tropinin. The Luck of a Genius” will present masterpieces by Vasily Andreevich Tropinin. 10 paintings by the master came from St. Petersburg to Moscow. The exhibition will also feature one of Tropinin’s most famous works, Girl with a Pot of Roses (1850). The fate of this work is dramatic. In 1941, she went to the Crimea – as part of a temporary exhibition that opened in the Alupka Palace, and ended up in the occupation zone. After the Great Patriotic War, the work was considered lost. Until one day, in the mid-1950s, a well-known collector, founder of the Tropinin Museum, Felix Vishnevsky found it by chance in one of the antique shops in Moscow. It was sold as the work of an unknown author, but the specialist recognized the hand of the master and bought the canvas. Later, the artist’s signature was found in a thin ornamental belt on the pot.

The story of the “Girl with a Pot of Roses” is in tune with the fate of its creator, who is also lucky in his own way. He was born a serf, but circumstances allowed him to develop his talent, gain freedom and recognition as one of the most brilliant masters of portraiture.

Poet Roman Sorokin, artist of the Moscow Theater of Poets under the direction of Vlad Malenko, will read lines from these collections and improvise to the music. And at the end of the evening, artist Antonio Lebedev will talk about the project “Password – Yesenin”, created based on the “silver classics” in a modern style – glitchsurrealism, where digital and analog errors become tools.
