Named the cause of death of director Igor Maslennikov

The organizing secretary of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Kalinin, named the cause of death at the age of 90 of the Soviet and Russian film director Igor Maslennikov, who became famous for films about Sherlock Holmes.
“Yes, he died today,” Kalinin said, adding that he had recently met with the director.
When asked about the causes of death, a representative of the Union of Cinematographers replied: “The man simply left old age, that’s all. He is almost 91 years old.”
Igor Maslennikov is also known for such films as Racers (1972), Yaroslavna, Queen of France, Winter Cherry and the series What the Dead Said.
