American entrepreneur and new owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, said that the social network is known for its interference in the election process. He wrote about this on his page in the social network of the same name.
“The clear reality, as longtime users know, is that Twitter has been distrustful for a very long time and is meddling in elections. Twitter 2.0 will be much more efficient, transparent and unbiased,” he wrote.
In this way, Musk responded to a comment by the former head of Twitter’s trust and safety department, Yoel Roth, who pointed out that the platform has not become safer under the leadership of a businessman. Roth also accused Musk of running the company like a dictator.
As head of Trust and Security, Roth was responsible for key content moderation decisions, including a ban on the platform by former US President Donald Trump.
Musk closed the $44 billion acquisition of Twitter on October 27. On November 22, the entrepreneur announced that the number of users of the social network reached a record number of 259.4 million people, having increased by 1.6 million in a week. For comparison, in early October this figure was at the level of 250.5 million people.
