Musk announced the search for a successor to the post of CEO of Twitter

American billionaire, owner and head of Twitter, Elon Musk, said he would leave the post of CEO of the social network when he finds a successor. He announced this on his Twitter page.

“I will step down as CEO of Twitter as soon as I find someone stupid enough to take the job,” Musk tweeted.

The Twitter owner said that after leaving the post of CEO, he intends to lead the company’s software and server maintenance departments.

December 20, CNBC, citing sources informedthat Musk was actively looking for someone to replace him as CEO of Twitter. The businessman publicly announced plans to leave this position back in November. The reshuffle is necessary to reduce the time he spends running Twitter, Musk said.

On December 19, the billionaire launched a vote on whether he should continue to lead the company. In the description, he promised to “stick to” the results of the vote. As a result, the majority (57.5%) of the 17.5 million Twitter users who voted favored his departure from this position. At the same time, according to CNBC, Musk began searching for a new CEO even before the publication of the survey.

Elon Musk officially became the owner of Twitter on October 27, the deal was worth $44 billion. In his account, he explained the purchase of the social network with a desire to create a platform “where a wide range of beliefs can be discussed in a healthy environment without resorting to violence.” On November 22, the entrepreneur announced that the number of users of the social network reached a record number of 259.4 million people.
