Musk announced a ban on users to block each other on Twitter

Platform X (formerly Twitter) may no longer be able to block accounts, which allows users to prevent other accounts from contacting them and viewing messages. The changes were announced by the owner of the social network Elon Musk, writes Reuters.
“Lockdown will be removed as a ‘feature’ except for private messaging,” Musk wrote in X.
X will retain the mute feature, which hides posts from specific accounts in the feed but, unlike blocking, does not alert the other account of the action.
According to the agency, removing or limiting the blocking feature could cause X to conflict with Apple and Google guidelines.
X chief executive Linda Iaccarino defended Musk’s decision. She stated that the company is creating “something better than the current state of blocking and muting”.
On July 24, Twitter was renamed to X. Innovations also affected the platform logo: instead of a blue bird, it now shows the letter X, and the domain has changed to x.com. Posts on Twitter after the rebranding of the social network will not be called “tweets”, but “X”.
