After that, according to Rosstat, chicken prices began to decline and in April 2023 dropped below 170 rubles. per kg. Among the reasons why the cost of chicken meat has risen, Albert Davleev, president of the consulting company Agrifood Strategies, named the rise in prices for feed additive components and equipment, as well as increased logistics costs.

On July 26, the Ministry of Agriculture reported that the dynamics of prices for most types of food products is within the limits of inflation, for a number of categories prices are fixed below this level.

At the end of May, Vedomosti wrote that the Russian market formed “physical shortage of volumes” of broiler carcasses and fillets. One of the reasons may be difficulties for producers in the Belgorod region, which is considered the leader in the industrial production of poultry meat in the country.
