MTS Bank is unlikely to go public in 2024 – Kommersant

Public offering of shares (IPO) of PJSC MTS Bank (owned by MTS; MOEX: MTSS) is unlikely to take place in 2024. This was announced by the founder of AFK Sistema (MOEX: AFKS; the corporation owns 42.09% of MTS) Vladimir Evtushenkov.
Answering the question “Interfax” about the possibility of holding an IPO of MTS Bank in 2024 on the sidelines of the Russian Energy Week forum, Mr. Yevtushenkov said: “Next year, I’m afraid not.”
In February 2023, MTS Bank was included in the US and UK sanctions list. All bank assets located in the jurisdictions of these countries were blocked. In May, Australia imposed sanctions against the bank. MTS Board of Directors statedthat he does not intend to reduce his stake in MTS Bank despite the restrictions.
