Most citizens will travel within Russia during the New Year holidays

About 89% of tickets with departures from December 29, 2022 to January 8, 2023, issued by independent travelers, are for domestic Russian destinations, 11% of bookings are for foreign destinations, said Natalya Anisimova, head of the press service of the Tutu travel service. Among foreign destinations, the main demand is for neighboring countries, she noted. The average check for a flight in Russia is about 9,173 rubles. one way, to neighboring countries – 13,711 rubles. one way, to Europe – 38,226 rubles. one way, Anisimova said.

The most popular Russian destinations – Moscow and St. Petersburg, follows from the data of another travel planning service – OneTwoTrip. Travel to the capital accounts for 28.8% of all bookings (from December 30, 2022 to January 8, 2023). For St. Petersburg – 13.5%.

According to Tutu, the average check for a flight to Moscow is at the level of 7,953 rubles. one way, and most tickets to the capital are issued from Sochi, Mineralnye Vody, Yekaterinburg, Kaliningrad and St. Petersburg. For a ticket to St. Petersburg during the New Year holidays, they pay an average of 8,860 rubles. in one direction, most often they plan to fly from Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Sochi, Samara and Minvod.

The third most popular destination is Sochi, where the service’s customers placed 7.9% of air orders. The top 10 Russian cities also included Mineralnye Vody (3.6%), Ufa (3.4%), Kaliningrad (3.3%), Makhachkala (3.2%), Yekaterinburg (3%), Kazan (2 .8%) and Samara (2.3%).

Turkey and Armenia turned out to be the most demanded among foreign destinations. According to the Kupibilet service, the most popular foreign countries for the New Year holidays were Turkey (28% – the share of tickets abroad), Armenia (16%), Israel (7%), Azerbaijan (7%) and Uzbekistan (5%) .

“Israel knocked Moldova out of the top 5 this time, which was in third place last year,” Anton Reznik, Kupibilet marketing director, told Vedomosti. The average cost of tickets abroad for the New Year holidays increased by 68%, the service notes.

According to OneTwoTrip, 14.4% of service bookings are for flights to Yerevan, 9.9% – to Istanbul, 4.8% – to Antalya. Dubai (4.6%), Bishkek (4.5%), Minsk (4.2%), Baku (3.9%), Almaty (3.5%), Tashkent (3 .4%) and Osh (3.3%).

Flights to neighboring countries were more often booked on Tutu: Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. Turkey, the UAE and Israel are also in the top 10 countries for the New Year holidays, according to the service.
