The Moscow Exchange will launch futures on the indices of Brazil, India and Turkey within six months. Maria Patrikeeva, head of the exchange’s derivatives market, told reporters about this on the sidelines of the 32nd Smart Laba conference.
She noted that these jurisdictions are in great demand due to the inaccessibility of purchasing securities of issuers from these countries. “We cover countries quite widely in ETF indices that have already been launched, plus we are now actively looking at Brazil, Turkey, India, again from the point of view of launching futures for ETFs in these countries,” she clarified (quoted from RBC).
As Kommersant reported, the turn of the Russian economy to the East also affects the investment proposals of professional stock market participants. Along with offering shares of Hong Kong companies and mutual funds focused on securities in yuan, managers and brokers are working on direct access to the stock markets of friendly foreign countries, primarily China and India.
