Moscow Exchange (MOEX: MOEX) in the next five years will consider the possibility of switching to the T0 trading mode (with settlements on the day of transactions and full pre-deposit). This was announced by the chairman of the supervisory board of the trading platform, Sergei Shvetsov.
“We switched to T+1. This is also very important, the market becomes safer, the margin becomes smaller, based on the fact that T+1 calculations are less risky. I think this is the right trend, in the next five years I think we will be talking about switching to T0,” said Mr. Shvetsov during the NAUFOR conference. At the same time, he noted that when considering the issue of switching to T0 settlements, the Moscow Exchange will take into account the reaction of international markets.
The T+1 mode involves settlements of concluded transactions on the next trading day and partial pre-deposition of funds and securities. The Moscow Exchange switched to T+1 settlements on July 31. Previously, OFZs and corporate bonds in rubles were traded in the T+1 mode on the Moscow Exchange, while shares, bonds and Eurobonds in foreign currency were traded in the T+2 mode (trading mode with payments on concluded transactions deferred for two days and partial pre-deposition of funds) .
