More than 20 new international brands may come to Russia

More than 20 new brands will appear in Russia in 2023, they will be brought into the country through Dubai. About this the head of the Union of shopping centers Bulat Shakirov informed TASS at Mallpic Sochi 2023.
“Colleagues from Dubai came to our exhibition. They are now launching more than 20 new international brands with a Dubai “registration” through Dubai. Among them there are those who do not want to abandon our market,” Shakirov said.
Shakirov said that partners from Dubai are interested not only in the Moscow market, but also in million-plus cities where new brands can be brought. New brands in Russian shopping centers may appear as early as 2023.
Under the new brands, goods from the categories “clothing”, “shoes”, “household goods”, “accessories”, etc. will be supplied from Dubai. Shakirov did not name specific brands.
In October 2022, the Spanish company Inditex, which owns the Zara and Bershka brands, sold its Russian business to the Daher group. The press service noted that if Inditex decides to return to the Russian market in the future, then the Daher group has the possibility of potential cooperation through a franchising agreement.
Zara suspended the work of its stores in Russia on March 5 amid the start of a Russian special operation in Ukraine. According to El Mundo, there were 502 Inditex stores in Russia, 86 of them under the Zara brand. Russia accounts for about 8.5% of the group’s global EBITDA.
