Mongolia is one of the four largest buyers of Russian beer

In 2021, Mongolia ranked fourth in terms of purchases of Russian beer, the volume of exports to this country amounted to about $4.5 million, Vyacheslav Mamontov, Executive Director of the Beer Producers Association, said. According to him, the top 3 in terms of purchases included Belarus, Kazakhstan and China.

“In recent years, the export of Russian beer to China and Mongolia has been at a high level. According to Agroexport, last year China bought 20 million worth of domestic beer, yielding only to Belarus and Kazakhstan in this indicator,” he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to Mr. Mamontov, the popularity of Russian manufacturers in Mongolia is explained by the fact that there is almost no own production there. In China, Russian beer is popular for its good price-quality ratio, he said.

According to NielsenIQ, beer with an ABV of 6% or more has become the category’s fastest-growing beer over the past year. Sales of such varieties in liters increased by almost 4%, and the share in the largest chains exceeded 11%. Market participants attribute the dynamics to the expansion of the range, as well as the desire of some consumers to save.
