Moldova will be able to buy gas directly from the Romanian market

Moldovan Energocom received a license from the Romanian National Energy Regulatory Agency. Thanks to this, the company will be able to buy and sell natural gas on the Romanian market, said Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spinu.
He specified that Energocom is also registered on the regional booking platform and has access to gas storage facilities in Ukraine. In addition, the Moldovan Moldelectrica signed an agreement with Transelectrica Romania on emergency delivery if necessary. “Step by step, we are increasing the level of energy security of our country,” Mr. Spinu wrote in Telegram.
In October 2021, Gazprom extended a five-year contract for the supply of gas to Moldova, subject to timely payment of debts. Moldovan authorities complainedthat in October Russia reduced supplies by a third. Gazprom in response threatened terminate the contract. In Moldavia form reserve gas in case of emergency.
