Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, speaking to the State Duma with a report on the work of the government for 2022, noted the growth in demand for travel across Russia. According to him, over the past year they were committed by more than 60 million people.
Mikhail Mishustin noted that tourism has become one of the fastest growing industries. Due to the development of the tourism segment in the Russian regions, about 70 thousand new workers have appeared. The dynamics of the development of the industry in the off-season, according to the prime minister, was provided by the program for the return of part of the cost of travel services.
According to Mr. Mishustin, about 4.5 million people took advantage of the program over the two years of its development. In total, about 18 billion rubles were returned to citizens, and about 14 billion rubles more. – for trips for children. “During the two years of applying this measure, more than 1 million children went on vacation. With the participation of subjects, support for school trips for students in the fifth through ninth grades was launched last year. This allowed 97,000 students from 18 regions to travel,” he said.
Investors are showing great interest in tourist sites. An increase in interest in the transport and logistics and construction complexes was also recorded. “We are seeing double-digit investment growth in these two sectors,” the prime minister summed up.
