The energy company Moldovagaz purchased gas from Gazprom for four days in March. However, later Chisinau refused these supplies, said Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean.

“Moldovagaz tried to resume these deliveries for Moldova, but they were immediately interrupted. So, Moldova no longer consumes Gazprom’s gas. We have support from Romania to establish long-term contractual relations for the volumes of gas that Chisinau needs. We see this support and we will see how it materializes as soon as possible,” the prime minister said during a briefing (quoted by Prime).

In November 2022, Gazprom threatened reduce fuel supplies to Moldova due to the fact that part of the gas settled in Ukraine, but in the end did not to do this. In December last year, Moldova completely abandoned the consumption of Russian gas. On the resumption of gas purchases from Gazprom after a three-month break on March 20 informed head of Moldovagaz Vadim Cheban. According to him, before that, the entire volume of gas was transferred to Pridnestrovie, and Chisinau used the reserves.
