Ferrexpo, one of the largest iron ore producers in Ukraine, has suspended work due to limited electricity supplies in the country. This is stated in message companies on the London Stock Exchange. Problems with electricity arose after yesterday’s massive shelling of Ukraine by the Russian military.
According to Bloomberg, the main assets of Ferrexpo are located in the Poltava region. “Engineers are assessing the damage to the electrical infrastructure and assessing the period of production downtime due to repair work,” Ferrexpo said. The company clarified that it has “a sufficient amount of product” that remains in warehouses or is in delivery. This should be enough “to meet the expected sales volumes”, but on the condition that logistics corridors are available.
Russia claims that the October 10 attacks targeted energy, military command and communications facilities. In Poltava and Sumy regions of Ukraine arose interruptions in electricity and water. Lviv due to explosion at a thermal power plant left without electricity. Due to rocket attacks in Ukraine was damaged a total of 11 infrastructure facilities.
